Potato Donut (Po-Nut) Recipe

One day, my child said that he missed mom's donuts. Even though I made donuts a long time ago. Wow, what a great trick to ask his mother to make donuts hahaha.

Finally, I made donuts on the weekend. Because coincidentally, all the ingredients were there, so just execute it straight away.



At home there were only 3 potatoes, so I made potato donuts for the children. Potato donuts are usually softer so they are suitable for children.

And here are the ingredients and how to make it

Ingredients

250 grams of high protein flour/bread flour

5 grams of yeast

3 grams of salt

35 grams of granulated sugar

1 tbsp powdered milk

100 grams steamed potatoes, mashed

2 egg yolks

90-100 cold liquid milk/cold water

30 grams unsalted butter

Steps to cook potato donuts:

1. Mix the bread flour and yeast for 1 minute. So that the yeast does not come into direct contact with the salt. If direct contact occurs, it usually causes the yeast to not function properly.

2. After 1 minute, we add granulated sugar, powdered milk, salt and egg yolks. These donuts will taste delicious because they use a full 2 ​​egg yolks.

3. After mixing, we add the softened potatoes, the most important ingredient.

4. Stir briefly and then slowly add the cold liquid milk. Cold liquid milk can be replaced with cold water. However, if you use liquid milk it tastes better.

5. Slowly add it in while looking at the consistency of the mixture. Because the temperature conditions during manufacture affect the condition of the dough during manufacture.

6. After mixing well, then we add the butter. Stir until smooth then we increase the speed of the mixer.

7. Increase the mixer speed until smooth.

8. Once it is smooth, we roll it up and leave it in a bowl and cover it with a napkin or plastic wrap.

9. Leave it for 20 minutes. The dough is not wet but rather soft because there are potatoes.



10. After 20 minutes the dough will rise. Then we divide each mask into 35-40 grams. Rounded and rested again for 15 minutes.

11. After 15 minutes, the dough that has risen is flattened to remove the air. Then we make a hole in the middle, you can use a syringe or donut mold. Then rest again for 20 minutes.

12. Prepare a frying pan and heat the oil. Use medium heat. Fry the donuts until golden brown.

Kids love donuts sprinkled with powdered sugar. So, once the donuts were no longer too hot, they immediately sprinkled powdered sugar on top of the donuts.

These potato donuts are very soft. I divided the dough into 40 grams. It turned out to be really big for the kids. They just eat 2 pieces and are full.

Put the remaining uneaten donuts into an airtight container. And it turns out that after 3 hearts, this donut is still good, you know.
